June 2009 Semi-Annual Exam

June is a busy month for the dojo with semi-annual exams for advanced ranks and continued exams for kyu level ranks as well.  This year to accomodate the summer schedules of all the examinees, the exams were held on two consecutive weekends.  The first group on June 6th was for only two kyu level students, Viviana Valencia and Nathaniel Mosley, that were both examining for their Green Belt ranks.  The second exam, held on June 13th, yielded Yellow Belts being awarded to Kennoris Bates, Jazmin Castro, Dakota Harkreader, Elder Castro, Keith Gallagher, Vince Galindo, and Tanner Harkreader.  Following the lower rank portion, the exam continued for those who were examining for higher ranks.  At the conclusion of the almost 4 hour exam, an Advanced Green Belt was awarded to Corey Martin, Brown Belt (1st Kyu) ranks awarded to Tong Lee and Chris Minor, and a 1st Dan Black Belt awarded to Paul Belmontes Sr.  The photos below are of the June 6th and June 13th exams.
