Upcoming Event
January 17 2009 Renzokuken Seminar at the Rayford Dojo
One of the greatest gifts that Kyoshi Sid Rayford received from the late Grandmaster Sid Campbell was the ability to execute the fast and flowing kata techniques in linear form applications, known as the practice of Renzokuken (continuos fists) and also referred to as "complexes". Hanshi Sid Campbell explained that Renzokukens predated the creation of many katas and are amongst the earliest known practice methods of applied Okinawan karate. As an individual learns a complex or Renzokuken, it becomes obvious that the exercises consist of 100% kata techniques ranging from Nahihanchi katas through Gojushiho. The exercises not only serve as a conditioning tool, but provide the practitioner with an endless number of self-defense strategies, applications, and combinations. Kyoshi Sid Rayford will be teaching some of these complexes as well as their applications on this seminar which will be a good seminar for those who are serious about learning the usage of their art.
